<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface type antenna device capable of reducing air resistance to be generated on the outer surface to also raise a cooling effect of itself when it is arranged on the outer surface of a mobile object, whose structure is simple, and capable of reducing weight of itself. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The surface type antenna device 20 is provided with: a wiring substrate 22 on one surface side of which a plurality of antenna elements 24 are arranged and on the other surface side of which a plurality of modules 26 for controlling operations of the antenna elements are arranged; and an outer package 30 which is arranged on the one surface side and has a plurality of antenna element storage holes 32. Height of the outer package from one surface is smaller than projection height of each antenna element from one surface, and the surface type antenna device is provided with a cover 33 which covers a part projected outside from a corresponding storage hole in the antenna element stored in each antenna element storage hole.
