<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To digitize an operational process of temperature compensation for downsizing, and to enable a temperature correction to be made accurately. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This temperature characteristic compensation method includes: setting the initial frequencies of two voltage control oscillators 20 and 22 which have secondary temperature characteristics and in which secondary temperature coefficients are the same but apex temperatures are mutually different; activating the voltage control oscillators 20 and 22 to measure respective output frequencies; computing a difference of the measured output frequencies of the voltage control oscillators 20 and 22; calculating a correction value corresponding to the difference; and inputting the obtained correction value into the two voltage control oscillators 20 and 22 for performing a frequency correction.
