<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel load estimating method for a tire, can exactly calculate the wheel load of each wheel of a four-wheel vehicle at a low cost, even when internal pressure of each tire is different. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By this method, the wheel load of the tire mounted on the vehicle is estimated based on the rotating speed of the wheel mounted in the vehicle. The method includes a process for detecting wheel rotation information on each tire of the vehicle, a process for calculating wheel speed from the detected wheel rotation information, a process for determining vehicle speed, a process for determining a dynamic load radius of each tire from the wheel speed and vehicle speed, a process for determining a slip ratio of each tire using the dynamic load radius, a process for calculating a load ratio of any other tire in relation to a reference tire using the driving force of each wheel of the vehicle, tire internal pressure obtained from a direct type internal pressure detection means provided in each tire and the slip ratio, a process for determining the mass of the vehicle, and a process for calculating the wheel load of each tire from the load ratio obtained in the process for calculating the load ratio and the vehicle mass obtained from the process for determining the mass of the vehicle.
