<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and intuitively select a keyword retroactively appearing as a telop during or after the looking and listening of a video by a user on a screen. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A device for selecting a video telop includes: a video reproducing means reproducing the video; a telop-appearance position/zone decision means deciding the appearance position and the appearance zone of the telop appearing during the reproduction of the video; and a screen storage means storing the screen containing the telop. The device for selecting the video telop further includes: an index preparation means preparing a telop index including a telop identifier while pairing the appearance position and the appearance zone of the telop; an index storage means storing the telop index; and an index selecting means selecting the telop index of a prior telop while having priority to a partial telop based on the appearance position and the appearance zone of the telop. The device for selecting the video telop further includes an index display means generating and displaying the selective screen of the telop index on the basis of the telop index of the selected prior telop.
