<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-cylinder engine improving output performance and exhaust emission properties. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the multi-cylinder engine having the introduction passage gas inlet 11 of an EGR gas introduction passage 6 communicated to the valve case gas outlet 10 of an EGR valve case 5, having the introduction passage gas outlet 12 of the EGR gas introduction passage 6 communicated to the inside of an intake air introduction pipe 7 at the circumference wall front side of the intake air introduction pipe 7, having EGR gas 15 flowing in from the circumference wall side of the intake air introduction pipe 7 mixed in intake air 14 introduced in the axial direction of the intake air introduction pipe 7, and having the intake air 1 in which the EGR gas 15 mixed in is distributed to the intake ports 16, 16 of cylinders respectively by an intake air distribution passage 3, the EGR gas introduction passage 6 is provided with a straightening plate 39 oriented in the fore-and-aft direction at a downstream of the reed valve 17 blocking the reverse flow of EGR gas 15 to the EGR valve case 5 from the EGR gas introduction passage 6.
