METHOD FOR MEASURING NITROGEN MONOXIDE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly measuring an NO concentration by incorporating directly into a gas absorbing liquid an NO gas having a low solubility in water without converting it into NO2, and also to provide an apparatus for carrying out the method for measuring. SOLUTION: A method for measuring nitrogen monoxide comprises: contacting a sample gas containing nitrogen monoxide (NO) and a gas absorbing liquid containing an NO fluorescent probe via a gas permeating membrane to incorporate nitrogen monoxide into the gas absorbing liquid; and measuring a fluorescence amount in the gas absorbing liquid. An apparatus for measuring nitrogen monoxide is provided with: a gas passage through which a sample gas containing nitrogen monoxide flows; a gas absorbing liquid passage through which a gas absorbing liquid containing an NO fluorescent probe; a gas collector in which a gas permeating membrane is provided in the boundary surface of the contact section of the gas passage and the gas absorbing liquid passage; and a fluorescence detector provided on the outlet side of the gas absorbing liquid passage in the gas collector.
