PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polypropylene-based surface protecting film which is less in occurrence of fish-eyes, is excellent in flexibility and transparency, and is improved in peeling force controlling performance, feeding performance and contamination resistance to adherend. SOLUTION: As for the surface protecting film, in which a self-adhesive layer is formed on one side surface of a substrate layer and a peeling treatment layer is formed on another side surface thereof, the substrate layer is formed of a propylene-ethylene block copolymer which is provided by performing sequential polymerization so as to obtain a propylene homopolymer or a propylene-ethylene random copolymer in a first process and obtain a propylene-ethylene random copolymer in a second process, by using a metallocene catalyst and has a specified MFR and a DMA characteristic; the self-adhesive layer formed of a rubbery self-adhesive; and the peeling treatment layer is formed of silicone-based or long chain alkyl-based peeling treatment agent.
