<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal device with a simple configuration that prevents erroneous transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The communication terminal device comprising an abbreviated dialing function includes a control means for prohibiting dialing to an opposite partner when a ten key dialing or redialing other than abbreviated dialing is input for dialing the opposite partner. Furthermore, after abbreviated dialing is input for dialing the opposite partner, input of a password is requested and only when the input password is coincident with a password registered corresponding to the abbreviated dial, a dial destination number stored in an abbreviated dial information storage means corresponding to the abbreviated dial is read out, thereby executing prescribed dialing.
