The invention relates to a hydraulic expansion chuck (1) that is simple to produce, comprising an end (3) on the tool side, and an end (4) on the machine side. A shaft (7) is disposed on the end (4) on the machine side for clamping the expansion chuck (1) in a machine tool. An expanding bushing (21) is disposed on the end (3) on the tool side and surrounded by a pressure chamber (22) and can be radially deformed for clamping a tool under the action of a pressure medium (F) received in the pressure chamber (22). For this purpose, the end (4) on the machine side is formed by a main body (8) which carries the shaft (7) and to which a clamping sleeve (9) delimiting the exterior of the pressure chamber (22) is rigidly attached on the tool side. An inner sleeve (12) that is separate both from the clamping sleeve (9) and from the main body (8) is inserted into the interior of the clamping sleeve (9), said inner sleeve comprising the expanding bushing (21) and delimiting the pressure chamber (22) on the inside.
