<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal control system for reducing the number of times that a vehicle entering an intersection from a second road temporarily stops at the intersection, without interfering with the traffic of vehicles traveling on a first road. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The traffic signal control system includes: a vehicle detection device 200d which is provided along a non-priority road R2 and at a predetermined distance away from an intersection and detects a vehicle 500 driving on the non-priority road R2; a vehicle detection device 200a which is provided along the non-priority road R2 and at a position closer than the vehicle detection device 200b in a traveling direction toward the intersection and detects vehicles traveling on the non-priority road R2; and a traffic signal controller 300 which controls the signal to allow the vehicle 500 traveling on the non-priority road R2 to pass the intersection and stop the vehicle traveling on a priority road R1 at the intersection when the vehicle detection device 200b detects the vehicle 500 after the vehicle detection device 200a detects the vehicle 500.
