<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cooling equipment for an engine wherein only the pump can be dismounted from the engine without expanding the space around the pump, when an insert-joint metal pipe is used as a return-water passage pipe. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The engine having a plurality of cylinders arranged in a row includes: the pump 2 mounted on a side at the front so as to press-feed cooling water to the engine; an outlet member provided in the rear part of the engine to discharge the cooling water circulated in the engine; and a return pipe 3 made of metal for refluxing the cooling water from the outlet member to the pump. A pump-side insertion hole 21 is opened toward the rear part of the cylinder row of the engine in a prescribed depth-direction. The outlet member-side insertion hole 11 is opened toward the front in the direction of the cylinder-row of the engine with the depth direction same or parallel to the prescribed direction. The insertion depth of the outlet member-side insertion hole 11 is set deeper than that of the other end of the pipe for return-water passage in normal condition, so that in dismounting the pump from the engine, the return-water passage pipe can be shifted to the side of the insertion hole on the outlet-member-side.
