PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software update method for, even when a current control program is damaged, quickly performing an operation with the updated latest control program. SOLUTION: The software update method is provided to successively execute following steps: a step (S1) for recognizing the presence/absence of update; a step (S2) for transferring a software update program to an RAM for start; steps (S3, S4) for reading current control software stored in an ROM and a difference file stored in an RAM to the software update program work memory of the RAM; a step (S5) for executing them; a step (S6X) for detecting the abnormality of the control software; a step (S10) for overwriting the control software with software for recovery; a step (S11) for acquiring a new difference file; and a step (S6) for advancing the steps S1 to S5 again, and for generating new control software, and for rewriting the control software with the new control software.
