摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber optic sensor capable of facilitating adjustments when the sensor is installed to an object to be measured and the sensor is assembled and highly sensitively and accurately detecting very small physical quantities. SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 1 includes both a sensing part 10 for receiving an inertial force due to acceleration to be elastically deformed and an optical fiber 14 for following the elastic deformation of the sensing part 10. An FBG 15 is uniformly distorted as receiving a prescribed tensile force by the restoring force of a flat spring 13. Acceleration in a noise direction is therefore not detected when a tensile force in a detecting direction is weak. Since fixed in parallel with and separately from the flat spring 13, the FBG 15 is not affected by a deflected shape of the flat spring 13 to make the acceleration sensor 1 highly sensitive. In the acceleration sensor 1, the sensing part 10 can be furthermore altered in its mounting angle, material, shape, size, etc., it is possible to freely select its sensitivity and resolution for the type and size of physical quantities.
