The injector (1) has an adjustable injection valve element (11) adjustable between a closing position and an opening position by adjusting units, where fuel flow into a combustion chamber is enabled in the opening position. The adjustment units exhibit a set of magnet actuators (20-21) acting on the injecting valve element in a direct adjusting manner. The actuators are designed and arranged in such way that adjustment force affecting the injection valve element decreases at time point during increase of injection valve element stroke.
