The method involves providing a driving torque by a motor, and dividing the driving torque between a differential gear (34) of an axle (24) and another differential gear (32) of another axle (20). A maximal rotating movement is determined after a specified criterion. The transferable maximum rotating movement is transmitted to the former axle depending on the size by distribution of drive movement between the differential gear of the former axle and another differential gear of the latter axle. An independent claim is included for an all-wheel drive system for a motor vehicle.
