<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell and a fuel cell system wherein drying up catalyst layers is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell (10) includes: an electrolyte film (11); catalyst layers (12, 13) disposed on at least one surface of the electrolyte film; and porous current collectors (14, 15) embedded in at least a part of the catalyst layers. When the surface tension of water is γ (N/m), the average hole diameter of each catalyst layer is D<SB>1</SB>(μm), the average hole diameter of each current collector is D<SB>2</SB>(μm), the contact angle of the each catalyst is θ<SB>1</SB>(rad), and the contact angle of the each current collector is θ2 (rad), at least a part of the catalyst layers and the current collectors satisfies a relational expression of 0>4γsin(θ<SB>1</SB>-π/2)/D<SB>1</SB>-4γsin(θ<SB>2</SB>-π/2)/D<SB>2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
