<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a see-through elevator capable of increasing cooling efficiency by closing a light shielding means when an object to be detected is absent in a car and the inside of the car is cooled. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This see-through elevator 1 includes a window 3 for observation provided to the car 2 and a blind 4 which is openably attached to the window 3 and shields the light directed from the outside to the inside. The elevator further includes a weight measuring device 6 which is installed in the car 2 and measures the weight of the passengers in the car 2, a control part 7 which is connected to the weight measuring device 6 and detects the presence or absence of the passengers in the car 2, a linear motor 5 which is electrically connected to the control part 7 and opens/closes the blind 4, and an air conditioner 8 which is electrically connected to the linear motor 5 and cools or heats the inside of the car 2. When the passengers are absent in the car 2 and the air conditioner 8 cools the inside of the car 2, the linear motor 5 closes the blind 4 to shield the light. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
