<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus which can obtain a molded article of a high quality, which can control a surplus amount of skin materials to be pasted on a substrate and prevents occurrences of wrinkles or local lifts in an area of the side part edge side positioned at a decorative side, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The substrate 2 is mounted and fixed on the top surface of a receiving tool 16, and the skin material 8 gripped by a clamper 15 at the edge is adhered tightly to the surface of the substrate 2. At that time, the clamper 15 is moved relatively up to a sufficient position for a close contact of the edge part of the skin material 8 with the whole side surface of the receiving tool. While the skin material 8 is deformed by a differential pressure due to the actuation of a means of generating the differential pressure, the skin material is spooled up from the surface of the substrate over the peripheral side surface up to the close contact with the end side rear face. The differential pressure power by the actuation of the means of generating the differential pressure at the time of spooling-up motion slidingly moves a sliding member 18 through the skin material 8 against the bias of a biasing member 19 to the bottom surface side inside a concave hole 20 formed on the peripheral surface of the receiving tool 16 to allow the skin material 8 to adhere tightly to the rear surface side end 6 of the substrate 2.
