PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of an ECU controlling electrical equipment on a vehicle. SOLUTION: When the control of a clearance sonar sensor 3 by a clearance sonar ECU 4 is not required, a starting state of a CPU 41 of the clearance sonar sensor ECU 4 is switched to a sleep state to suppress power consumption. Until the control of the clearance sonar sensor 3 by the clearance sonar ECU 4 comes to be required, the starting state is switched between the sleep state and a temporary wake-up state, thereby greatly reducing the power consumption as compared with a case continuing a wake-up state.
