<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm, in which a pulling cord can be easily installed without passing the pulling cord through a through-hole of a knob part in adjustment of the length of the pulling cord, and the installed pulling cord is never easily detached from the knob part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The alarm configured to give an alarm by detecting abnormality in a monitoring area includes a casing; the pulling cord suspended from the casing, and the knob part provided at an end of the cord. The knob part is formed of two divided bodies, and includes a connection part connecting the inner surface of one divided body to the inner surface of the other divided part in a manner such that they are overlapped, and a fixing part for fixing the inner surfaces of both the divided bodies in an overlapped state, and the outer shape of the knob part is constituted by the outer surfaces of both the divided bodies. The knob part further includes a long groove for disposing the pulling cord, which is formed on the inner surfaces; a pulling cord passage for passing the pulling cord, which is formed by overlapping the inner surfaces of both the divided bodies; and a locking part which is engagingly locked to the pulling cord with the pulling cord being inserted to the pulling cord passage.
