DISK DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve resistance to shocks by surely detecting contact between a head and a disk medium to reduce the frequency of contact as regards a disk device and a control method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Rotational variation of a spindle motor is detected by measuring the cycle of a pulse signal generated in synchronization with the rotation of the spindle motor. Upon detection of rotational variation exceeding a threshold value, the head is retreated from the disk medium. Upon convergence of the rotational variation exceeding the threshold value, the head is moved onto the disk medium. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
