The system has X-ray tubes including two electron emitters (2, 3), by which electrons are emitted and accelerated to an anode (1). A laser (4) is provided in the X-ray tubes for activating the electron emitters during operation of the electron emitters. A switching device (10) is provided in the tubes for activating one of the electron emitters in time-delayed manner. Each electron emitter is supplied with high voltage potential so that the electrons generate different energy spectra corresponding to emitted acceleration voltages (U1, U2).
