<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus for a steel sheet supplying a large quantity of cooling water onto the steel sheet by jetting the cooling water obliquely toward the upstream side or the downstream side in the advancing direction of the steel sheet, which has good water-cooling starting property and water-cooling stopping property by eliminating difference in time when the inflow of the cooling water is started and difference in time when the inflow of the cooling water is stopped between the nozzles, thereby exactly preventing uneven temperature. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this cooling apparatus for the steel sheet, the height position of inflow port 5a of the cooling water of each nozzle 5 comprising a nozzle group 6 is equal, the nozzle group 6 being mounted to the outer frame 2 of a nozzle header 1.
