PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-way optical switch that eliminates troublesomeness of switching of an electrode switch. SOLUTION: Assuming that a two-branch switch element 402 is a first switch element and a gate switch element 411 is a first switch element when a driving electrode channel 1 is fed with electricity, the driving means 202 of the first switch element and the driving means 311 of a second switch element are driven in parallel with each other and in common. Assuming that a two-branch switch element 404 is a third switch element, the driving means 204 of the third switch element is driven in series with the driving means 202 of the first switch element. Power needed to drive the first and third switch element is P1=Pπ/2 and power needed to drive the second switch element is P2=Pπ, so the ratio of the distributed power when the driving means of the first switch element and the second switch element are driven in common is set to P1/P2=1/2.
