<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent temperature of a control section provided in a head in order to control discharge of liquid from getting high. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid discharge device includes: the head to discharge the liquid; a first control section provided in the head to control the discharge of the liquid from the head; a temperature acquisition part to acquire temperature of the first control section; and a second control section to allow operation for discharging the liquid from the head to stand by based on the temperature acquired by the temperature acquisition part.
