PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and control method omit the reset of the external device related to the HDCP(High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) authentication. In that way the turnaround time for the change over of the input source is reduced between a plurality of external devices. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of external devices offers the contents. The contents is received from the connection unit in the video color deflection(120). The video color deflection processes the contents. A controller(160) is proceed the contents authentication about a plurality of external devices. The controller is proceed the contents authentication after the reset about the converted external device. In case the converted external device as described above is the predetermined external device, controller omits the reset about the predetermined external device. |
