<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording body which is excellent in color developing sensibility and image quality and further is excellent in an imprinting property, scuffing resistance, a water blocking property and printability in general printing. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is the thermosensitive recording body, wherein a thermosensitive recording layer containing at least a colorless or light colored basic leuco dye and an electron-receiving color developer is provided as a coating layer, on a support and further a protective layer is provided on the thermosensitive recording layer.
