<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus of energy consumption smaller than that of conventional ones by controlling the operation of an electric pump for paint supply. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coating apparatus 1 having a coating booth 2, a coating apparatus 3 disposed inside the coating booth 2, a conveyor 5 that is disposed inside the coating booth 2 and conveys a work 4 includes: paint tanks 11 provided for each paint; paint circulation pipes 13 that are provided for each paint and circulate the paint inside each paint tank 11; paint pumps 12 that are each provided for each paint and send the paint inside each paint tank 11 to the paint circulation pipes 13; color change valve units 14 that are each provided halfway in the paint circulation pipes 13 and are connected to a coating apparatus 3; and a control means for performing synchronous control on the color change valve unit 14 and paint pumps 12 in accordance with a production program.
