The steering arm is provided by a strut and separately manufactured end components for connection to the chassis or bodywork of the automobile. The arm is fitted to the strut via a self-clamping hub and shaft coupling, in which, the end of the shaft is provided with a number of wedge-shaped projections fitting into corresponding recesses provided around the inside face of the hub. The strut of the steering arm can be provided by a tube of a light-weight metal alloy.
