The device (200) has an electrode structure comprising a detector electrode (E1) and an auxiliary electrode (E2) arranged at a preset distance to the detector electrode. The detector electrode is coupled with the device by a modulator (ZPS), where the device detects capacitive couplings (C1, C2) between the electrode structure and fingers (260). The auxiliary electrode is coupled with the device over the modulator to detect signals indicative for capacitive coupling between the electrodes and the fingers. The electrodes are coupled with a modulation unit (ZPS1). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a switch device comprising control elements (2) a method for manufacturing glass-ceramic hobs.
