摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the influence, caused by signal level reduction being different for each color component accompanying ambient light quantity reduction, in an imaging apparatus employing three CCDs or CMOS sensors. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, an imaging apparatus (1, 101) includes a shading correction circuit which corrects for the influence of ambient light quantity shading, for input image light outputted from three CCD sensors of R, G and B, based on a distance from the center of a screen. The shading correction circuit does not make correction for an area inside a circle with a distance (a) from the central part of the screen, and corrects for color non-uniformity that is the influence of ambient light quantity shading while reducing memory consumption by adjusting the size of a correction target area specified by a circle with a distance (b) from the central part of the screen, the distance (b) being longer than the distance (a), after calculating a square L<SP>2</SP>of an address distance of each pixel obtained by using a vertical distance and a horizontal distance from an address of the central part of the screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
