PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a compound useful for measuring aldosterone in a sample by LC-MS. SOLUTION: After alkoxylating the 18-th place of aldosterone in the sample, a compound shown by formula (I) is reacted therewith to obtain an ester derivative, and the obtained ester derivative is measured. In this case, in the formula (I), R1 shows a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C<SB>1-4</SB>alkyl group, a C<SB>1-4</SB>alkoxy group, an allyl C<SB>1-4</SB>alkoxy group, a C<SB>1-4</SB>alkyl amino group, di-(C<SB>1-4</SB>alkyl) amino group, a nitro group or a cyano group, and X shows a hydroxy group or a leaving group.
