<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for drying kitchen garbage causing no problem in the successive operation time of the garbage drying apparatus even after a long non-use period. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Ends of garbage agitation means 7 are made to move along the garbage outlet 24 of a solid/liquid separation device 3 opened on the inner wall of a garbage treatment part 6, thus the ends of the garbage agitation means 7 operates to scrape off dewatered garbage 22 remaining at the garbage outlet 24 of the solid/liquid separation device 3. This configuration prevents operational problems of the garbage treatment apparatus 8 caused by solidifying and clogging of the dewatered garbage 22 at the garbage outlet 24 of the solid/liquid separation device 3, even restarting after a long non-use period of the garbage drying apparatus 8.
