<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic storage device in which reading accuracy of servo information and its compensation information are improved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The magnetic storage device includes: a magnetic disk 2 having a servo part 30 in which servo information for performing control of a magnetic head 13 and a post code part 40 in which compensation information for compensating servo information is recorded; a VGA 171 amplifying a reproduced signal in which recording information of the magnetic disk 2 is reproduced by the magnetic head 13; and an AGC control circuit 176 in which gain of the VGA 171 is set based on amplitude of the reproduced signal in which a waveform for measuring amplitude recorded in a preamble part 31 of a servo part 30 is reproduced by the magnetic head 13, in which the VGA 171 amplifies a first reproduced signal in which servo information is reproduced by the magnetic head 13, in which gain of the VGA 171 is set based on amplitude of the reproduced signal in which the waveform for measuring amplitude recorded in the post code part 40 is reproduced by the magnetic head 13, then, in which the VGA 171 amplifies a second reproduced signal in which compensation information is reproduced by the magnetic head 13.
