RANDOM ACCESS METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RELAY STATION

The present invention discloses a random access method and system for relay station. The method includes the following steps: a base station selects a non-contention random access preamble from a dedicated non-contention random access preamble set and assigns the non-contention random access preamble to a relay station, then transmits a downlink signal to the relay station to notify the assigned non-contention random access preamble; the base station receives a non-contention random access request message transmitted by the relay station via the uplink random access channel, wherein the non-contention random access request message includes a non-contention random access preamble; the base station further performs the random access response to the relay station, and transmits a random access response signal to the relay station via the downlink channel. The processing above avoids the cell public random access preamble resource being occupied by a relay station (RS), simplifies the processing of random access, reduces the time delay of access and improves random access efficiency for a RS.
