PURPOSE: A character input apparatus and a method thereof are provided to input a character accurately and promptly by using a stick with a finger. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(120) extracts the location information of first and second sticks and includes those sticks that moves depending on the operation of a user. A storage unit(140) memorizes first and second string information corresponding to the operation direction of the first stick, and stores function key information corresponding to the operation direction of the second stick. A control unit(110) extracts from the storage unit the function key information corresponding to the location information of the second stick and the character information corresponding to the location of the first stick. The function key information includes the character string conversion information selecting first or second character string. The character information is extracted from the firs or second string information. |
