KNEE PROTECTION AIRBAG APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protection airbag apparatus capable of preventing an inflated airbag from strongly touching a key accessory even when the airbag is stored at a lower side in a column cover.

SOLUTION: The knee protection airbag apparatus M1 includes: a column cover 13 for covering the steering column; and an airbag 50 which expands and inflates by pressing a door 36 provided in the column cover so as to protect driver's knees. The column cover 13 arranges a cylinder opening 19 for exposing a key insertion opening 6a of a key cylinder 6 on a right side surface 17a. The column cover 13 is provided with an opening edge 22 arrange at least on a lower side in the periphery of the cylinder opening. The opening edge 22 is directly pressed on the inflated airbag 50 so as to suppress the inflated airbag 50 from touching the key accessory KA inserted in the key insertion opening so as to press the key accessory KA.
