RECEIVING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology for preventing loss of a right to receive remuneration by viewing and listening.

SOLUTION: A receiving device receives digital broadcast having a plurality of channels, and includes: a detection means for detecting a channel selection operation for selecting a channel; a determination means for determining whether or not a broadcast program under broadcast in the channel under selection is the one by which a viewer/listener obtains the right to receive the remuneration by satisfying predetermined viewing and listening conditions; a transition means for transiting a mode regarding control of channel selection of the channel from a normal mode to a warning mode when the determination means determines that the broadcast program is the one by which the right to receives the remuneration is obtained; and a notification means for notifying that the right to receive the remuneration is lost when the detection means detects a channel selection operation for performing the channel selection from the channel by which the broadcast program is broadcast to other channel while the broadcast program by which the right to receive the remuneration is obtained is viewed and listened in the warning mode.
