PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer optical waveguide in which foreign matters can be suppressed from sticking onto an optical path conversion reflecting face with an air interface in comparison with the case of an optical waveguide in which a reflecting face is formed by cutting off the end of the waveguide. SOLUTION: The polymer optical waveguide 11 is characterized in that it includes a core 12 and cladding 14A, 14B surrounding the core along the propagation direction (a) of light and that a groove 20 is formed at least in one end, wherein the groove has a slope 22 forming a 45°angle to the propagation direction of light and vertically reflecting the light propagating the core.
