<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dyeable high strength-high elastic modulus fiber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There is provided the high strength fiber whose core component comprises a melt-anisotropic aromatic polyester (A polymer) and whose sheath component comprises a flexible thermoplastic polymer (B polymer) having a dyeing rate of ≥50%, when dyed with a disperse dye, and which satisfies the following (1) to (3). (1) MPa+20≥MPa≥MPa-30, wherein MPa(°C) is the melting point of the A polymer, and MPb(°C) is the melting point of the B polymer; (2) the rate (R) of the sheath component occupied in the cross section of the fiber is 10 to 25%; (3) the tensile strength and the tensile initial elastic modulus of the fiber is ≥18 cN/dtex and ≥400 cN/dtex, respectively.
