<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve exposure control without feeling of difference by suppressing overshooting upon iris control in an imaging apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a detection means for detecting the amount of change of an iris control signal at a unit time; comparison means for comparing a value detected by the detection means; output means for outputting a switching signal for switching frequency characteristics of the iris control circuit base on determination of the comparison means; and the iris circuit switching circuit.
