PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna apparatus and a communication device employing the same in which another member is disposed in a circuit element non-packaged portion 14b on a main substrate 14 by disposing a matching substrate 20 comprising a matching circuit in a carrier 10. SOLUTION: The antenna apparatus is disposed on a main substrate 14 of a communication device. An antenna element 12 is disposed on a surface of a carrier 10 constituted of a dielectric, a matching substrate 20 comprising a matching circuit is disposed in the carrier 10, and conductive leaf springs 18, 18 are provided for electrically connecting the antenna element 12 and the matching substrate 20. Further, a terminal is provided for electrically connecting the matching substrate 20 to the main substrate 14 while the carrier 10 is disposed on the main substrate 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
