<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door opening system or the like enabling an occupant to adjust a door opening after allowing the occupant to recognize that there is action of gravity when opening the door of a vehicle parked on a slope. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The door opening system has: an engagement release operating means 11 for releasing engaging means 26, 27 engaging a door 13 with a vehicle body by the occupant's operation; a door handle 12 held by the occupant to apply force for driving the door 13 in a door closing direction; a release operation detecting means 31 detecting the grip or operation of the engagement release operating means 11; a handle sensor 32 detecting the occupant's hand laid on the door handle 12; inclined direction detecting means 21, 41 detecting the inclined direction of the vehicle body; a door determining means 42 determining the door under the action of gravity in a door opening direction; and an attention calling means 44 calling the occupant's attention when the grip or operation of the engagement release operating means of the door under the action of gravity in the door opening direction is detected but the occupant's hand laid on the door handle of the door is not detected.
