PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical piece extraction device capable of precisely extracting the end point of a musical piece section. SOLUTION: The musical piece extraction device which extracts the musical piece section from an audio signal includes: a frequency feature quantity extraction unit which calculates a feature quantity of a frequency area of the audio signal; a first determination unit which determines which of a musical-piece part and a non-musical-piece part the audio signal is based upon the calculated frequency feature quantity; a genre determination unit which determines the genre of the audio signal based upon the calculated frequency feature quantity; a second determination unit which determines which of a musical-piece part associated with the genre and other parts the audio signal is based upon the calculated frequency feature quantity; and an end-point detection unit which detects a place where the audio signal changes from the musical piece part to another part at the second determination unit as the end point of the musical piece section.
