<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for preventing fraudulent trading on the Internet, in particular, reliably buying and selling used automobiles on the Internet. <P>SOLUTION: The e-commerce system for brokering online trading between sellers and buyers includes an online market server for, when trading information of an article including actual owner terminal information is input from a seller terminal to apply for registration, determining whether or not the article is fraudulent or not by sending verification request information to an actual owner terminal and receiving a response.
