<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser diode array driving circuit performing an APC operation within a predetermined time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The laser diode array driving circuit for an image forming apparatus is provided with: a laser diode array where a plurality of light sources are arrayed on a single chip; a single light receiving element for detecting the light amount of the laser diode array; an APC control means for successively correcting the light sources of the laser diode array to have a desired light amount in accordance with the output value of the light receiving element during a non-printing area scanning process.
