<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous manicure agent little in physical effects to the nail and more friendly to the nail compared with organic solvent-based manicure agents, wherein the aqueous manicure agent satisfy all of gloss, color development and water resistance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A method for producing an aqueous nail enamel dispersion includes a step (1) of kneading a pigment, a water-soluble resin, and water or a volatile solvent with a twin roller, to provide solid chips, and a step (2) of dispersing the chips in an aqueous medium, wherein, in the step (1), the compounding ratio of the pigment and the water-soluble resin (weight of the pigment/weight of the water-soluble resin) is 60/40 or more.
