METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROTECTING BLOWOUT PANEL

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blowout panel protection device which can prevent a blowout panel from being damaged in an inspection and does not inhibit a pressure release function of the blowout panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The blowout panel protection device 12 has protection covers 13, a take-up device 15 and a housing box 19. The protection covers 13 are connected to each other by joining rings 14. Hanging wires 16A and 16B from the take-up device 15 are mounted on the protection cover 13 located in the uppermost position. The housing box 19 which stows each of the folded protection covers 13 is placed below a sub-blowout panel device 8A. The protection cover 13 which should be located in the uppermost position is lifted up to the upper end of the sub-blowout panel device 8A by the rotation of the take-up device 15 and covers the front face of the sub-blowout panel device 8A.
