PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angle detecting apparatus which can perform rotation angle detection with high accuracy and at low cost. SOLUTION: The angle detecting apparatus includes: a rotating member 2, formed of a magnet which has N-pole regions N having N-polarity and S-pole regions S having S-polarity alternately around a rotational center, in which each central part 5 of the N-pole regions N and S-pole regions S in the circumferential direction protrudes radially outward from other parts; a magnetic-field detection section 3, which is provided radially outside the rotating member 2 to face it and can detect the magnitude of magnetic field components, at least in two directions, namely a direction along the radial direction of the rotating member 2 and a direction along the rotational direction of the rotating member 2; and an arithmetic section 4 for determining the rotation angle of the rotating member 2, on the basis of the detection information of the magnetic-field detection section 3.
