The connector has a groove-like recess (3) provided in a lateral surface (2), where a pipe end (1) is protruded into a mounting hole (4) via the recess. Another groove-like recess (6) is provided in an overlapping area of the pipe end such that the pipe end is approximately positioned with the former recess in the mounting hole where the former recess lies opposite to the latter recess. A safety device (7) e.g. circlip, is arranged at the latter recess of the mounting hole, where the safety device is provided as an end-firm structure. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a connector for a pipe.
